Bintan, baby!

we finally managed to squeeze some time out to make a short trip to Bintan over the long Hari Raya weekend, and we were all shit excited about it!i reckon this is a must-have kind of shot

with the girlfriends!

our first glimpse of Bintan.
we were all pretty bummed since it was raining in Singapore when we got on the ferry, and the sky was equally black over in Bintan. i was looking forward to getting a good tan on the sunny island but i started cursing when it started drizzling :(

THIS IS THE BEACH. THIS IS THE BLOODY SEA.
it dried up so badly during the low tide! we were damn worried because if our beach looked like this, we were so not going to the beach at all and we had to take the shuttle bus down to another side of the beach. it was only like 5plus pm and this was the state of the sea haha

this was taken at roughly 7pm indonesian time. seriously.

then we all played scissors-paper-stone to see who would finish the disgusting calamarYthat i ordered from room service and went to sleep with our tummies filled with oil. i was supposed to set my alarm at 7am, but ended up setting it at 6am since my phone was already automatically following Bintan time! haha qianwen started my morning with, "I want to slap you, it's only 6am" hahahah but look at what we saw! it was like the most beautiful sunrise ever, at 6am in the morning. and there was a hint of the sea coming back up and it was beautiful, it was a really beautiful sight (:

off to town!

in town where you can get bras for like $5 after 20% discounts and corsets for $7 after 50% discounts. it was cooooool

i loved the sun there and my handsome angmoh from the ferry terminal was like 1 minute away from me on the beach (:

the girlfriends slapped on so much sunblock that i got scared, and there i was piling on the suntan lotion! i was sweating it out on a deck chair out in front of the beach and they were sitting in a pretty tent like thing and talking hahaha

qianwen wanted to try out the banana boat thing, but i was such a chicken and told her that i didn't want to try it for fear of the big blue sea. but she was pretty insistent on going, even if it was by herself, and there was no way i was going to let her go by herself, so i went. AND OMG IT WAS THE MOST FUN THING EVER! we fell into the sea twice and i panicked and i screamed and i laughed and i had a ball of a time!

it was really a great experience (:

Bintan was pretty nice, except for something really bad which happened at the ferry terminal in Bintan, but i won't rant about that here since i'm talking about all the good stuff anyway. but next time, we're going to Thailand. for sure.

but thanks, bintan, for giving us great sun, great waters, good hotel service, an amazing spa at only $60! (that was the best thing ever despite the pain)
